\nThis summer, Gentleman<\/strong><\/a> was the first reggae artist in the world to be given the honour of giving an MTV Unplugged<\/cite> concert. The internationally renowned singer used his home game in Cologne’s Stadtgarten<\/a> for an impressive foray into his own history, which has made him one of the most unique artists of this genre in the constant change between Jamaica and Cologne.
\nEspecially the acoustic versions of all his hits that have long been part of the canon of pop music, such as Dem Gone<\/cite>, Superior<\/cite>, Send A Prayer<\/cite> or Different Places<\/cite>, demonstrate how wonderfully melodic and memorable his songs are.
\nA fine guest list ennobles the set of more than two dozen songs, including Christopher Martin<\/strong> (To The Top)<\/cite>, Shaggy<\/strong> (Warn Dem)<\/cite>, Tanya Stephens<\/strong> (Another Melody)<\/cite>, Milky Chance<\/strong> (Homesick)<\/cite> und Marlon Roudette<\/strong>, with whom Gentleman breathes new life into the Mattafix Classic Big City Life<\/cite>. The finale is Bob Marley’s Redemption Song<\/cite> with Campino<\/strong> and Ky-Mani Marley<\/strong>, son of the reggae legend.<\/p>\n
